Expertise

Rob is a managing solicitor in our London office and a member of our casualty response team. He is experienced in many aspects of shipping and trade as well as the insurance and finance arrangements which underpin them. Rob has a keen interest in the Russian language and culture and has travelled extensively in the CIS, advising many Russian-speaking clients and their insurers. Rob was formerly a partner with a prominent London banking practice and co-led their shipping team to a top-three Euro-money listing as experts in trade finance, particularly on problems relating to letters of credit, pledges and trust receipts. Rob has also co-ordinated a number of multi-jurisdiction ship finance work-outs.

Career

Rob joined the firm in June 2007. He trained with Richards Butler and was admitted as a solicitor in 1981. He then joined Holman Fenwick & Willan before moving on to become a partner at Wilde Sapte, and then Lawrence Graham (1994–1999). Rob read law at Queen's College, Oxford.
