Expertise

Ioanna is a solicitor based in our Athens office. She specialises in shipping litigation, with particular emphasis on charterparty and bill of lading problems, cargo claims, sale and purchase disputes and casualties. Ioanna also advises on marine insurance disputes and is actively involved in arbitration.

Career

Ioanna was admitted as an English solicitor in 2002 and joined the firm in the same year. She is also a qualified Greek lawyer (since 1991) and, prior to joining Thomas Cooper, worked in-house for shipping companies as well as the Maritime and Transports’ Division of the European Parliament in Brussels and Luxemburg. Ioanna read law at the University of Athens and obtained a Master’s degree from the Southampton University. Ioanna is a member of the Athens Bar Association and speaks fluent French and Greek.
