Stephen Swabey
Expertise
Stephen is our senior partner based in our London office. He specialises in corporate work including formations, listings, shareholder agreements, merger and acquisitions, management buy-outs and group restructuring. He is also a leading practitioner in European law and judicial review and was the driving force behind the Factortame litigation, the most significant constitutional decision of the last century. In addition, Stephen advises a number of oil and gas companies on a wide range of issues.
Career
Stephen became a partner in 1976, having joined the firm in 1969. He is a Liveryman of the Worshipful Company of Shipwrights and a member of the LMAA and Baltic Exchange. Stephen read law at the University of Nottingham.
