Mark is a partner and head of our Vancouver office. He specialises in wet and dry shipping and is a member of our casualty response team. With 30 years involvement in China and as a fluent Mandarin speaker, Mark is particularly experienced in handling claims including casualties and arbitrations with Chinese aspects. His work in Vancouver, often on behalf of Asian clients, includes a broad shipping law and international trade practice.

Career

Mark joined the firm as a partner in 1996 with 10 years prior experience practicing in Canada and Shanghai. Mark opened the firm’s Singapore office in 1996 and the Vancouver office in 2001. His first degree was in Chinese Literature (First Class) from the University of BC (1982) followed by an LLB (1986). He is qualified as a barrister and solicitor in British Columbia and was admitted as an English solicitor in 1998.
