Lars is dual qualified as a Solicitor in England and an Avocat at the Paris bar and he is the managing partner of our Paris office and a partner in our shipping group.
He specialises in English and French shipping/admiralty law as well as commodities (particularly oil trading) and insurance and is regularly invited to speak at conferences. Lars is ranked in the first category of shipping lawyers in France in the Legal 500.
Career
Lars became a partner of Thomas Cooper when he joined the firm in 2007. He is fluent in English (mother tongue) and French. Lars is a dual qualified Avocat at the Paris Bar/Solicitor of the Supreme Court of England and Wales and has been practising shipping law since 1989. Lars read law at the University of Southampton, including carriage of goods by sea, international trade and admiralty.
