Our Finance Group has extensive experience in a range of transactional work across the Balkan and wider South Eastern European region.
One of many examples is the acquisition by Commercial Bank of Greece S.A. (now Emporiki Bank of Greece S.A.) of 80% of Kapital Banka A.D., a privately owned Serbian bank with fourteen branches in Serbia and Montenegro.
The negotiations were concluded under English law by a team led by Athens and assisted by London.
The same team later successfully advised Commercial Bank of Greece S.A. on its withdrawal from the purchase agreement at no loss.
